Course Summary

Hands-On First Aid's Family First Aid Workshop is specifically designed to address everyday emergencies encountered by Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers. This course requires no prior on-line learning and is targeted at providing participants with the skills and confidence to address common medical and traumatic injuries that occur in the family home. 

Gather a group of family members or friends together and hold this workshop in the comfort of your own home.

Learning Objectives

• recognise an unconscious casualty

• managed the unconscious breathing casualty

• perform CPR on both and adult and infant

• follow the prompts of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) 

• conduct a visual and verbal assessment of the casualty

• demonstrate safe manual handling techniques

• Applied first aid procedures for the following:

• allergic reaction

• anaphylaxis

• bleeding 

• choking and airway obstruction

• drowning

• bites & stings

• fractures, sprains and strains

• head injuries

• poisoning

• asthma

• anaphylaxis

• fevers and febrile convulsions

• meningococcal

• croup
